The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is a teenager-targeted blockbuster movie about control and calculation and heartlessness and struggle, so maybe it’s appropriate that the Weeknd shows up on a couple of tracks on the movie’s soundtrack. Other than Coldplay’s “Atlas,” the first song we’ve heard from that soundtrack is “Elastic Heart,” from the Australian adult-contempo pop star Sia. The track also features production from Diplo (in muted and emotive “Climax” form) and the Weeknd (sounding way more vulnerable than usual). It’s a grand and pretty song, and it won’t give you the creeps the way the Weeknd songs ordinarily might.

Wish I was more knowledgeable on Two Door Cinema Club, but thanks to Parisian producer Belarbi’s remix of “Changing Of The Season,” I am now properly introduced to their sound. There’s a growing trend lately of remixing indie records into dance tunes, and Belarbi does the trick with this one. If you’re into light and sexy tunes with a hint of French house, consider yourself served for the day. Now if only there was a free download…Either way, this is a must listen! Enjoy your Sunday!

Lorde Hits #1 in the US with her great song Royals!

Kiwi teen sensation Lorde can do no wrong..!  After wowing audiences as a replacement for the sickly Frank Ocean at Splendour in the Grass earlier this year, her single Royals has just knocked Miley Cyrus off the top spot on the Billboard charts (Cue Wrecking Ball gag)… Extraordinary is not a word we use lightly, but her debut album Pure Heroine is just that.  Showing a maturity that is beyond her 16 years of age, her lyrics provide a social commentary of sorts reflecting the angst, jealousy and petty dramas that we have all faced at some point in life.

Needless to say, this album transcends mainstream sensibilities and will be a true contender for SCP Pop Album of the Year.  Expect awards to flow, hearts to flutter and sell out shows to be the norm from here on in.

The track uses a sample of “Back to Life“, original by Soul II Soul, and has the collaboration of British singer-songwriter A*M*E. The single will be released on digital retailers in September.

The song is a delightful production, mixing between symphonic and dance music. Huge, elegant and with a fresh sound wrapped with orchestral strings and soaring synths, Monsieur has hit the nail to reach triumphantly and be able to conquer the UK charts with this perfect shot. Recently, the producer has released the first official remix of the song “Grown Woman” by Beyoncé. Moreover, A*M*E, is promoting her latest single “Heartless” after the success of the hit track “Need U (100%)” with British producer Duke Dumont. Remember that her collaborations with producers have given very good results. A new success is coming…!

The track written by herself and produced by Greg Kurstin is confirmed as the fifth official single taken from her sixth studio album “The Truth About Love” that was released on digital retailers on September 14, 2012 via RCA. The name of the next single was confirmed by Australian radio 92.9 Perth on September 12, 2013.

This new single has been released at the time that the album has reached its first anniversary, and after the limited success achieved by the predecessor single “True Love” in collaboration with British singer-songwriter Lily Allen, released on July 15. A preview of the music video was exclusively released on Australia’s Today Show on October 3rd, and as expected is a tour footage video of her The Truth About Love Tour. The full video was premiered on VEVO on October 4th.
